Description

The Thermoformer Operator is responsible for the operation and quality of bubble wrap and other similar products produced by the Thermoformer.

1st Shift, Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm
Weekly pay with paid breaks!

Starting Pay Rate:
$22.75/hr plus a shift differential of $2.10/hr per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Measure and test product Identify defects in product
  • Read and comprehend work order
  • Accurately complete "First Off Check Sheet"
  • Produce product to work order specifications
    • Dimensions
    • Box quantities
    • Pallet configurations
    • Label information
    • Placard information
    • Run speed (bags/rolls/lbs./pks. per hour) maintained
    • Roll size
    • Perforation location, performance and size
  • Make labels
  • Complete and apply roll tags
  • Maintain budgeted scrap levels
  • Complete Quality check sheet after every roll / per required frequency
  • Complete Production data entry accurately
  • Maintain required inventory levels for pull system
  • Stage rolls in required locations
  • Understand machine mechanics
  • Job setup or changeover on machine with no supervision following standard work procedures
  • Familiar with downstream equipment
  • Close work orders (remove job packets, placard for partials, remove materials)
  • Identify E-stops and safety sensitive areas
  • Assist in Maintenance PM's
  • Bear Tracker data consistently input
  • Material boards accurate and updated
  • Housekeeping per 5S Handoff Audits
    • Workbenches clean and organized
    • Scrap removed
    • Trash dumped
    • Floors swept
    • QA samples neatly placed in boxes
    • Full QA boxes removed and tagged properly
    • Excess or unused materials removed
  • Practice safe behavior with regards to equipment and task
  • Able to resolve technical problems independently
  • Understand RM and FG part numbers
  • Able to count inventory
  • Can be moved to different machines within applicable machine or product group
  • Setup most difficult jobs
  • Able to run Thermo #1

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Qualifications:

General:

  • Must be capable of reading work instructions
  • Must be capable of reading and adhering to safety rules
  • Must be capable of reading a ruler
  • Must be able to adapt and work efficiently in a fast-pace environment
  • Must be capable of maintaining good attendance
  • Must be willing to cover another shift in the event of a call off

Education and/or Experience:

  • Must have a high school diploma or its equivalency
  • At least 1 year of machine operation experience

Language Skills:

  • Must be able to understand and read English with good interpersonal skills

Mathematical Skills:

  • Must be capable of performing addition, subtraction, multiplication and division calculations.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Must possess good organization and time management skills and practices

Computer Skills:

  • Must be capable of using a computer to perform data entry and printing functions - required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel - preferred

  • Work is performed by using both hands and arms while in a standing position, including frequent bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, squatting, or kneeling for an eight hour shift.
  • Must be capable of lifting 70 lbs. on a regular basis.
