Position Description:

Develops and maintains relationships within the local community to facilitate market engagement and training opportunities in the Veteran community. Builds community awareness on all facets of Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities. Works independently, forging relationships and making decisions on organizations that we will partner with. Increases training utilization of Veterans and their families through various organizations around the valley. Provides specialized workshops and readiness activities to veterans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assesses needs of various community agencies to determine which GCNA services meet those needs and builds an implementation plan to achieve set goals.
  • Monitors effective benchmarks for measuring the growth of the community, analyzes, reviews, and reports on effectiveness of new initiatives. Builds an action plan for GCNA's involvement.
  • Researches and determines key partner organizations to expand into the veteran community.
  • Builds and strengthens relationships with community organizations and agencies via a job seeker referral process.
  • Attends and speaks at community and networking events to build awareness of GCNA's training services.
  • Coordinates events for the Veteran community with internal departments and external organizations to enhance service offerings.
  • Acts as an advocate on GCNA's behalf within the community.
  • Manages and coordinates community events, including hiring and readiness workshops, community fairs, school fairs and Veterans events, to promote career centers and GCNA services.
  • Assists with leading events and other activities as appropriate.
  • Stays current with the business landscape, industry trends, and economic development strategies that directly impact our Veteran communities.
  • Models Goodwill Core Values - Trust, Collaboration, Engagement, Ownership, and Innovation.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience required
  • 3-5 years' relationship building experience required
  • 2-3 years' working with the veteran community
  • 1-2 years' experience facilitating training and resume writing
  • 3+ years' project management experience preferred
  • Military credentials preferred
  • Excellent internet navigation required
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently
  • Excellent public speaking skills
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Valid drivers' license and clean MVR
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position
