Applications Specialist - Failure Analysis

Hamamatsu, a global leader in advanced light detector technology, seeks a passionate and skilled Application Specialist to join our dynamic team. This exciting role offers the chance to drive sales for our cutting-edge Failure Analysis (FA) instruments, working both in-house and at customer sites across the US and Canada.

As an Application Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in showcasing the capabilities of our current and next-generation FA instruments, helping our customers unlock the full potential of photonics.

Responsibilities:

  • Become the technical champion for FA sales directed activities:Plan and execute customer demonstrations,sample evaluations,and loaner/upgrade/new tool installations.You'll own every step,ensuring high customer satisfaction and successful outcomes.
  • Fuel innovation:Support the development of new techniques and gather valuable customer feedback on software and hardware features.Your insights will shape the future of our instruments.
  • Travel and connect:Build strong relationships with customers across the U.S. and Canada,understanding their needs and challenges.Expect regular travel of 25-30%,with occasional periods of up to 60-70%.
  • Bridge the gap:Foster effective communication with our parent company in Japan,ensuring seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Share your expertise:Create compelling content,reports,and presentations.Train and empower others to harness the power of our technology.
  • Gather valuable intel:During customer visits,collect key business information,including budget estimates,desired configurations,and competitive insights.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Microelectronic Design, or a comparable field
  • Five years' experiencein a related field (such as Semiconductor Failure Analysis or Device Physics, Microelectronic Design, Optical Microscopy,Technical Field Service Engineering,etc.)
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated hands-on technical expertise(such as device failure analysis, working in lab, rebuilding cars, assembling computers, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in semiconductor failure analysis
  • Experience with Hamamatsu FA tools
