The Innovation and Development Division (IDD) drives the innovation strategy for the Hubs and Operations, and contributes to the Group's transformation. It is responsible for imagining, developing and incubating new solutions until they are brought to market, particularly when it comes to offers with a high technological content (including digital and IT). Air Liquide in Newport, DE builds products that separate gases naturally present in the atmosphere and purifies them into oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and various rare gases. Our Operations Group in Newport is searching for a Manufacturing Operator. This Operator will be working within our Manufacturing Group on a 12-hour shift. The Operator will report directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor.

Our Operations Group in Newport is searching for a Machinist to fabricate bundles to required specifications. This Machinist will be working within our Manufacturing Group on a 12-hour shift. The Operator will report directly to the Production Supervisor.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines for prototyping and production
  • Perform manual milling and lathe operations as required
  • Interpret specifications, drawings, job orders (Oracle & File Maker), work instructions, recipes and procedures
  • Take precise measurements for cutting or shaping
  • Ensure quality through meticulous checks and adjustments
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams
  • Maintain inventory of completed products, ensuring WIP build up in area is managed properly
  • Fabricate products to meet established quality standards and the requirements of customers
  • Complete preventive maintenance on a regular, timely basis. Handle first-line troubleshooting such as equipment malfunctions, computer program issues, setting adjustments; involving appropriate other experts as needed
  • Comply with the Company's safety and environmental standards:
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area
    • Assure proper disposal of waste materials
    • Contribute actively to safety improvement programs
    • Comply with all Company policies including safety, operating procedures, quality, attendance and proper on the job conduct
  • This position is shift work on a 12 hour Schedule, either dedicated day or nights

Working Conditions
  • Lift up to 50 pounds of materials, supplies, tools, fixtures and equipment from floor to elevated positions
  • Reach and manipulate controls on equipment
  • Perform work activities above ground level
  • Perform work activities with production chemicals, adhesives and epoxies, using required personal protective equipment
  • Operate forklift and other material moving equipment
  • Perform job duties at all times of the day within plant operation
  • Ability to hear vocal instructions and interactions, signals, alarms and work environment sounds

  • High School Diploma - G.E.D. or 10 years directly related manufacturing experience
  • 3+ years Industrial Machining experience, preferably on CNC lathes
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Capability to prioritize time efficiently
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
Preferred
  • Good judgment, attention to detail, and manual dexterity are required
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • Good written skills, proficient computer skills, and ability to work with MS Office tools are required
  • Flexibility to work in shifts and handle occasional overtime as needed
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects
  • Continuous standing in one location for long periods (2-3 hours before break)
