Job Description
SUMMARY

Primarily, the Training Coordinator develops and provides training to county personnel. Delivers training to all employees, or small groups on computer and security best practices, and a variety of software applications including Microsoft 365 and Office apps, and other third party apps.


Outside Data Requests:
  • Back-up support for all BOA Data requests (Monthly, BOA, Voters, etc.), emails, and required documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Course Curriculum Development: Develops course curriculum and instructional material related to computer usage, network security, Microsoft desktop and online apps, Adobe Acrobat DC, audio and video apps, and other third-party vendor software used within county departments;
  • Effective Training Strategies: Breaks down technical information into non-technical language to formulate effective training strategies that enhance software adoption and proficiency;
  • Training Coordination: Collaborates, schedules, and conducts virtual and in-person specific training sessions with department management and staff to align with their specific requirements;
  • Customized Training: Conducts customized training for all employees, including small groups and one-on-one user training. Adapts training methods based on individual learning styles and skill levels;
  • New Hire Orientation: Presents IT (Information and Technology) department information and services at a bi-monthly New Hire Orientation session (in-person);
  • Instructional Material Maintenance: Creates and maintains instructional material and videos on the ITS Training intranet site and internal department's SharePoint site;
  • Communication: Sends Training Announcement email blasts.
  • eLearning Course Assignments: Creates and assigns employees to eLearning courses;
  • External Training Coordination: Liaises with outside training providers to register IT staff for high-level technical courses and certifications;
  • Vendor Management: Locates vendors and processes invoices to vendor agencies;
  • Budget Research: Researches training needs for the annual budget.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • In-person and virtual training experience is essential on Microsoft 365 and Office applications;
  • Proficiency:
    1. Adobe Acrobat DC;
    2. Microsoft Office 2016 apps;
    3. Microsoft 365 apps;
    4. OneDrive syncing;
    5. SharePoint;
    6. Audio and video editing software;
    7. Virtual meetings (Microsoft Teams and Zoom).
  • Working knowledge:
    1. Windows 10 features and functions;
    2. VPN and VDI networks and functionality;
    3. Multi-factor Authentication;
    4. Network security.
  • BS Computer Science /5+ years equivalent training experience preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when in contact with non-public information.
  • Clearly explain technical complexities related to software functionality, features, and usage in plain terms.
  • Ability to understand the business rules of various county departments.
