Job Description

Creative Arts Therapists are responsible for the following:

  • Conducts therapy sessions for a minimum of 50% of available therapeutic time.

  • Completes daily documentation on each patient admitted.

  • Directs social/recreational activities to meet current needs of the unit.

Creative Arts Therapists will utilize creative arts therapies to diagnose and treat psychological and emotional problems of patients via individual and group sessions within the adult inpatient population. Qualifications for this position include:

  • Masterrsquo;s Degree in Creative Arts Therapies or related field

  • Two (2) years experience in Creative Arts Therapies

Education:

Music Therapy: BS or higher in Music Therapy by an AMTA approved college or university (academic coursework, 1200 hours of clinical training, and a supervised internship).

May have Graduate degrees in Music Therapy focus on advanced clinical practice and research.

Minimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements:

Music Therapy: Music Therapist-Board Certified (MT-BC) required.
