Bachelors with health physics related major. [Health Physics related Masters may be substituted for 1 to 2 years experience.]

Experience Requirements

Six years at a level of ldquo;Assistant Health Physicistrdquo; (or equivalent) or higher, at least three of which are at a medical facility with a significant clinical and research program involving the use of radioisotopes and other radiation sources. Must satisfy training and experience requirements as described in federal regulations (10 CFR Part 35, Subpart J).

Primary Responsibilities

Oversees institutional Radiation Safety Program in order to ensure safe use of radiation sources in accordance with applicable University/Hospital policies, procedures, government regulations, and accreditation standards.

Essential Functions

Ovresees all aspects of Institutional Radiation Safety ProgramManages Radiation Safety DepartmentInteracts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.
