Job Description
Position Summary The Director of Indirect Sourcing is responsible for implementing and maintaining procurement strategies and programs to identify, evaluate and maintain a vendor network that meets the company's quality, cost and service requirements. This position will work cross functionally to deliver procurement cost savings and risk mitigation. Duties and Responsibilities * Review company purchases and identify opportunities to cost reduction through purchase consolidation. * Serve as liaison between company stakeholders and vendors. * Cultivate and manage relationships with vendors. * Lead all levels of RFP activity, meet with potential participants, answer RFP related questions from vendors, analyze RFP results and support final vendor awards. * Support as well as lead sourcing events including vendor sourcing, vendor management and contract negotiations. * Onboard new vendors. * Support development of new policies and procedures to drive savings and lead organizational and operational change management. * Support necessary negotiations ensuring all buying complies with policies and procedures. * Develop and communicate sourcing strategy to senior leadership. * Consistently monitor and evaluate savings against targets. * Leverage external sources to assess market conditions, spend leverage opportunities, benchmarking data, RFP builds, and related activities. * Lead research and analytics efforts to both validate savings projections and enable more precise supplier negotiations. * Build vendor management and continuous improvement methodologies. * Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field is required. * 10 years of experience in indirect procurement, vendor management and strategic sourcing in required. * Experience with the RFP process, contract negotiations and contract management is required. * Expert proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. * Strong interpersonal skills. * Ability to build collaborative relationships. * Experience with process improvement and change management. * Ability to explain analytical findings clearly and succinctly to a wide range of stakeholders. * Ability to manage multiple projects at once. * Must have a strong attention to detail. * Must have strong problem solving skills. * Must be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment.
