Job Summary:

Assists the Equipment Service Manager/Director CSS, in coordination of daily staffing, work assignments and staff competency in area of responsibility. Performs Equipment Service Technician responsibilities by ensuring staff correctly collects, decontaminates, assembles, sterilizes and dispenses instruments, supplies and other equipment as necessary.

Position Responsibilities:

Assesses, observes, prioritizes workflow, assigns and leads staff to ensure efficient operation of the Department. Serves as a resource to staff. Performs quality improvement and quality assurance control. Ensures assignments are completed.

Coordinates the orientation of new staff and/or students and retraining of current staff as needed in the concepts of work practices of the Equipment Depot. Performs staffs monthly competencies. Effectively communicates department updates or education during staff meetings.

Fills into Supervisory capacity in the absence of Department Manager/Director.

When appropriate collects, cleans, and disinfects patient care equipment collected from clinical units. Takes inventory and replenishes supplies of specialty carts.

Creates and maintains staffing/assignment schedules. Supply order. Collect data for department statistics.

Position Qualifications Required:

Required Experience: 2-3 years as an Equipment Service Tech required.

Previous Lead experience preferred.

Good communication, delegation and prioritization skills.

Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Required Education: High School diploma or GED required.

Training / Certification / Licensure: Preferred CRCST but not required.
