Overview

Bergmann, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design is currently looking for a Senior Electrical CADD Designer to join us in our Trevose, Conshohocken or Philadelphia, PA office.

 

Bergmann mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) engineers are experienced in a wide range of projects, including power generation & distribution, lighting systems, fire alarms, security and access control systems. We design new and renovated systems, as well as energy controls. We offer both new building commissioning and retro-commissioning. Our experts are skilled at reducing energy usage while creating comfortable interior environments. Our professional engineers evaluate how the design impacts both short-term capital costs and long-term operational costs. Our team can also conduct constructability reviews to lower project costs and shorten the time to completion.

Responsibilities
Independently evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adoptions and modifications to create schematic.
  • Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables.
  • Works with Principal, Associate and/or Senior Engineer/Designer to clarify project scope and schedule of deliverables.
  • Supervision and guidance related largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts and policy matters.
  • Consults with Principal, Associate, Group Manager or Senior Engineer concerning unusual problems and development.
  • Prepare project plans and specifications.
  • Supervise Designers and CAD Operators as related to tasks in progress.
  • Responsible for accuracy of design, specifications, drawings, etc.
  • Establish project design concepts, design criteria and scope, space requirements, etc.
  • Make engineering computations.
  • Project cost estimating.
  • Coordinate between trades, architect, client, etc.
  • Equipment selection, sizing, etc.
  • Check work of designers and CAD operators.
  • Review of shop drawings.
  • Provide suggestions for improvements of Electrical Standards.
  • Supervises, coordinates and reviews the work of Designers and CAD Operators.
Qualifications

 

  • 2-3 years of experience in responsible charge of project design in respective discipline.
  • 8+ years of electrical design experience preferred.
  • Electrical Designer with a passion for power, lighting and fire alarm design.
  • Proficient skills working in REVIT, CAD and AGI Lighting Software
  • Ability to research code provisions, products, material information.
  • Ability to coordinate information exchange between clients, project manager, and project team.
  • Ability to multitask.

  • Willingness to mentor new designers and interns.

  • Proficient Verbal and written communication skills.

  • A team player and be able to work independently.
