TA Instruments Product Management team is comprised of highly skilled, motivated and customer-focused professionals who develop and champion the implementation of the company's product strategy. As a Product Manager you'll have the opportunity to craft and execute the global product strategy for the Rheology product line. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work with multiple disciplines including; Product Development, Marketing, Sales, Service, and Manufacturing.
Typical tasks of the position include, but are not limited to
    Responsible for developing and championing the implementation of the global product strategy for the Rheology product line
  • Identifies and defines market opportunities for new products and/or enhancement to current products.
  • Translates market needs into clear business opportunities and product requirements through market segmentation and voice of customer.
  • Provides commercial leadership throughout the product development process, ensuring delivery of a product that meets the selected market need and drives above-market growth.
  • Plans and guides new product launches in coordination with cross-functional partners including sales, marketing, and applications to maximize impact of new products on top line growth.
  • Leads exceptional commercial execution through enablement of the Marketing and Sales organizations. Prepares differentiated customer value proposition messaging, competitive analysis and product positioning, relevant product training, and sales enablement tools.
  • Establishes pricing strategies and ensures that the specifics associated with implementation of those strategies (e.g. pricing lists) are current and up to date
  • Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity and identifies customer needs
  • Manages complete product lifecycle, making key decisions and adjustments as market and business conditions dictate
  • Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the product management and marketing function
The successful candidate will have a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience that would include the following
  • Knowledge normally acquired through completion of a Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, etc.) or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced technical or business degree preferred.
  • Specific product and industry knowledge in Rheology is required
  • 3-6 years of industry and/or product related technical experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, etc.)
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally by both air and ground carriers
